L'Arche Harbor House

Founded in 1985, L'Arche Harbor House of Jacksonville, Florida is a faith-filled residential community for adults with developmental disabilities and the caring assistants who choose to live with them as family.  The continuing success of this unique concept depends on a dedicated staff, active community volunteers and benefactors, and a close, mutually supportive relationship with L'Arche communities around the world.

The club, through Notre Dame’s Summer Service Internship Program, provides a current Notre Dame student to assist at Harbor House every summer. This student is then given club scholarship financial assistance for the next school year at Notre Dame. The club also provides volunteers and financial assistance.

Adopt-A-Family

Each year the club adopts needy local area families and provides gifts and food to help them enjoy Christmas. These families are identified from various valid sources. The club, through our members, provides funding for the program, and volunteers to purchase the items, wrap them and deliver them to the families.

Wounded Warrior Project

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is to raise public awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members to aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

This year the Board approved a donation of $200 to this cause for the purchase of two Wounded warrior backpacks which contain essential care and comfort items including clothing, toiletries, calling card, CD player, and playing cards, all designed to make their hospital stay more comfortable. They are provided to severely wounded service members arriving at military trauma centers.
